... the worst and not getting it.

By the time I got to Haro, my destination, I was feeling triumphant but the gods have clearly no intention of letting me think things are going well, so they confused me totally in the town and directed me the wrong way up a one-way street. Oh the shame!

So now I am on a caravan site in the heart of the Rioja wine growing area watching the snow come down and hoping that it will have melted by the time I leave in a couple of days.

Commenced today's at 8am in the rain. It was the first rain we have experienced whilst walking and fortunately it was not heavy. Lasted 2 hours or so and allowed to test the poncho for leaks and to ensure that the waterproof shoes are indeed that. Both checked out okay. Villamayor del Río is also called the place of three lies as there is neither a large river (just a stream) or a large city (a town of 51 people).
