By the time I got to Haro, my destination, I was feeling triumphant but the gods have clearly no intention of letting me think things are going well, so they confused me totally in the town and directed me the wrong way up a one-way street. Oh the shame!

So now I am on a caravan site in the heart of the Rioja wine growing area watching the snow come down and hoping that it will have melted by the time I leave in a couple of days.

... Toasted ham & cheese with coffee. The bread is just horrible but it's still a change from the obligatory croissant (& we thought that was only in France). Decided against seeing the chicken locked up in the church!!! Firstly I'd want to free the chicken & secondly, they've turned it into a tourist trap - pay to see! Wind, wind and more wind and we pushed on to Granon. Cute little village - Clive had coffee. Met another couple from Perth, Rex ...
