... There were some hairy turns on the way down but we made it. As usual some were already in water by the time we got there. Some of us changed in the van. I tried walking into the water on the pebbles (rocks) without my shoes, but had to crawl back up and put them on (see photo). The water was not quiteas warm as yesterday at Bol. First full day in Hvar. After no rain for over 2 months and 28 days, we had a 20 minute rain that brought water gushing down the stairways into the town square where we were hoping to get our morning croissant and jolt of coffee. Instead, we ran into the bakery to stay dry and sample from their collection of bakery goods. According to Milan, our guide, Hvar is posh. And it is. It is built into an inlet like all of the other towns we have seen but it oozes luxury. Million dollar boats line the harbor and beautiful people walk the walk. Large, multi level resorts cover the hillsides from the harbor.
