... mind are Aruba's famous trees. We walked along the turquoise blue ocean which blended quite well with the blue sky. The sand was pure white and soft under our feet. I could see why Aruba is famous for its beaches. We simply relaxed, enjoyed ourselves and had a bite to eat.

The downside is it adds cost to our budget, although the SA leg is a significantly upgraded tour....no adobe huts and shovels.....and after a long fight, we got the pomised additionl 10% off the price for the inconvenience. We have looked at the prices for this tour on line now and it is over $1500 per person more expensive, so we think we have done ok. Happy new year again. Remember, stay in touch.

We got a call from Mickey at 6:30 this morning. We needed to get ready and grab breakfast before our 8:15 shore excursion. We got breakfast at Topsiders and tried to find a table but there were none inside. We went out on deck to eat only to discover...rain. Luckily we found a table by the Mickey Pool that was covered. ... the Queen ships left the harbor together. But , John and I were very excited about joining the World Cruise group. There are about 400 people who are going the whole way. Our dinner mates, Jeff and Monica, are two Brits who winter in Naples and are lots of fun. Monica's sister, Margaret will join them in Los Angeles so they will move to another table, but we will still see ...

... it!!!! Hubby stays in the car and I get the visa. We drive back to the shop. Where the discussion about the refund starts again. I brought his bloody t-shirts, he can have them back. Then it is: yes but I suggested an alternative: shore dives. I say: 'look: if I order a Merc and you deliver a Hyundai, I am not happy with your remark: it has 4 wheels too.' I almost get the visa thrown in my face. I thought it was a good remark. Nobody else does. Hubby ...

... ourselves tremendously. It is a great island known not only for it's beaches, but also its' people's hospitality. I really loved talking to the locals and knowing they are made up of all walks of life. It's a safe island [I think with the lowest crime rate and the highest employment rate]. The island is infused with so much flavor stemming from its rich past of various inhabitants, that it truly is an island paradise worth visiting over and over.

... the wonderful weather as possible so that those of you who are not able to enjoy it, can read about it and hopefully feel some of the heat being sent your way....Is it working?? The hotel is quite different than how it used to look. Tracy is busy taking many pictures that I will hopefully include in the next entry, but right now I have not figured out how to do that. I am still new at this travel log! We hope everyone is doing well.

The first day in Aruba we decided to do it right and sat on the beach for most of the day. I take that back... at one point in the day we moved to the resort pool for a bit but eventually went back to the beach. After a bit we decided to take a walk on the beach to see the other resorts. Toward the end of the day we decided to sit under the "chickee" and wait for our first Aruba sunset. It was amazing but went down fast. I barely got a picture!

He Said: This was a very exciting time for me. I had never been out of the Country or Married so I had a lot of stuff going on with me.lol Aruba was beautiful though, we had a great flight there and we got to the resort without any problems.
