    ... became all too regular an occurrence during those last few months of our time in China. We were usually joined on those hot Sunday afternoons by any number of the friends we have made here (good folks from all over the world), drinking, jamming, and generally enjoying life.     ... the Dragon Boat festival. And for most of the weekend, the boys and I played Pokémon on our computers. It was a blast from the past, and a much needed distraction from all the busy work I’ve had with school in Rotterdam and what’s going in China. Anyway, we all beat the game in about three days, logging in some hard core hours living out the good days.

    The other Monday, a friend of a friend celebrated their birthday at a KTV. And for the first time at KTV, I was the only white person in attendance. The setting, however, was calmer than my other nights, but was still just as comfortable as I didn’t drink or stuff myself with any of the junk food offered.

    ... kung fu because many of the kung fu founders were from Foshan. I learnt a lot about Yip Man who trained Bruce Lee. From the sounds of it he was such a kind and peaceful man, and also stressed the connections with religion and the importance of the mind in kung fu. It was really interesting to read about. I then watched a demonstration of kung fu from some teenagers who were training - they also brought out a toddler to have a go which was really cute!
