... font-size: 17px; line-height: normal;">And whilst speaking of that - I continue to be amazed at the amount of food that Norwegians consume - it is incredible! Every meal, breakfast lunch and dinner comprises a minimum of 2 or 3 full-size servings, and if you are hungry, you go back for as many more as you can stuff in...

... Skien, and we had a little sit-down 3-course dinner for for 55 people at one long table! Really excellent!
In typical Norwegian fashion, there were at least 30 speeches, all in Norwegian, but I had the amazing Margrett (sp) sitting next to me and translating the pertinent bits and giving me a quick précis of each speech. Margrett ( I'm not confident of the spelling, but that's what was on the place card) is an 80 yo Scottish lady married to a Norwegian who lived ...

There were the usual kids and adults swimming from the quay, and as the day drew on, we evolved into the silliest/funniest/best diving exhibition from the board, ...

... br> all the view is blocked and right away I begin to think I have made a mistake
          taking this back road.
Onwards and upwards I snake around the mountains with next to no view at
all. then suddenly the road heads round a sharp curve and into a small cutting
right at the top of the mountain and there at the other side of the cutting is a
          complete change in scenery.
Almost instantly the green trees stopped and the place was a plain of snow
          once ...

The next morning, when I saw rays of sun through our skylight in our bedroom, I ran to the window! These photos are my first sunrise (visible that is...) in Norway. We were ...
