For some reason, I couldn't really get very motivated for our trip this year, and when Thursday night arrived, prior to our Friday morning departure, I was only half organised.
I'd packed, after a fashion, but wasn't really happy about it.
And of course, on Thursday afternoon/evening, SueEllen from next door came over for a glass of pre-trip champers, (any excuse!) and Mick and Rose must have smelled it, because they also arrived, and so did ...

    least here it was dry.
As I head onto this dirt road and across the dam wall its not actually that
bad to ride on. The temp up here is still close ...

... made its appearance, we grabbed the camera, ran out the door, and soaked in as much as we could for the 10 minutes before it set again. And would it return again? Yes! The next morning, when I saw rays of sun through our skylight in our bedroom, I ran to the window! These photos are my first sunrise (visible that is...) in Norway. We were ...

... back over a thousand years, and seemed to be quite a good place in our brief visit. We saw a couple of old Viking ships and and a few old merchant boats, and managed to be ready to catch the train in time..... Except... There was a breakdown of some kind so we were bundled into coaches and driven 30 or 40 Kms before being dropped at another station for the trip to Oslo's Gardemoen airport, and then to our hotel for an overnighter before staggering out to catch the 06.30 ...
