... but the last few weeks have been a great experience and we have loved our time here.

But now it is time to move on with our travels, and to Australia – a flight to Melbourne in particular, where we stay with our friends Sam and Kim who will join us on our travels for the next week and a half (they come with us for a bit of Sydney). The free hotel shuttle collected us quite quickly for our hotel and we were there by 1am. They had even put the heater on in the room for us. So after a nutritious meal of half a Picnic bar each it was time for bed by 1.30am.

We took a turn round the botanic garden and in the Canterbury museum to see Fred and Myrtle's front room from their home, decorated with Paua shells and a shrine to Kiwi kitsch Kiwiana. There was also T-Shirts Unfolding, a celebration of the T-shirt, with a huge collection of display, together with history and quirky facts such as a cotton T shirt was regulation ...
