Apparently this is a common behavior here and the ranger said that a bigger bear would probably dump on the branches on the ground and came back down to eat them. the locals will tell you that only way to get to Juneau is by air, boat or birth. We arrived at 1 pm by boat after a very early start raring to go and anxious to view our new billet – the Juneau Hostel only to be told that we couldn't gain access until 5 pm.
