... to swap to a glacier flightseeing tour on a seaplane and that and the prospect of being refunded quite a lot of money cheered us up! And the seaplane turned out to be awesome! It was a little 12 seater plane on sort of skis that worked as a sort of boat and plane in one - like the London Duck Tours, only cooler! ... in the 60's and has increased since then so that now it is receding about 400 feet this year!!!!. One of the rangers said that in 30-40 years you won't be able to see the glacier from the Visitor Center. How sad it makes me to think my grand-kids may have to hurry if they want to see it.
I was able to hike in the rain on the Photo Point Trail and the Nugget Falls Trail. Seeing the falls up close was really cool. The floating ice calved in ...

... at the boat there were sunny patches which was promising for our dinner tonight at the Orca Point Lodge and an outdoor open fire. As we started to leave we again had a view of the glacier which was nice.
Pre-dinner snacks was cheese, crackers & fruit. Then at 6:30 we docked at the lodge and headed along the gangplank, at low tide via their touch tank which had a variety of sea stars, urchins, anenomes, mussels, clams, barnacles, small fish and crabs. Then there was time to have ...
