... my wish for making a better world is to have dedicated smoking spots everywhere and a cigarette butt that sticks to the smoker so they cannot drop their "stompies" to spoil the countryside for the rest of us to see.
There were not as many flames as I had expected. Some of the chimneys were smoke tinged but not flaming. Perhaps they hadn't paid their gas bill?

... is a set of small bungalows, each with a porch, two hammocks, tiny living room, bed and bath. What? I mean WHAT?!? The structures were far enough apart to feel private. Fruit trees, ferns,palm trees, flowers, and tree houses made this a paradise. Why the heck did I only book two nights?! The dining area is open air, with plants, lanterns, and jazz playing all day. Spent our 2 days here relaxing on the cushions under the shade at Bayrams and swimming at the beach. A nice reprieve! The people were friendly, the free dinners delicious and the surroundings beautiful.

Our one visit was to the Chimerea, a cluster of flames that blaze spontaneously from crevices on the rocky slopes of Mt Olympos. Travelling by ...

Well we finally swam in the Mediterranean. The water is very clear, temperature was perfect, calm waves, but I needed my sandals to cope with the very pebbly shore! Did I know there wouldn't be much sand? We are spoilt! Yesterday we walked to the Chimaera...up a mountainside to where fire still burns from crevices in the rocks, it was recommended we visit at night to get the full effect. Thankfully we walked up in daylight and back in the early evening ...

... I stayed, including a relaxing lunch by a small harbour with lots of old square rigger style tourist boats. I recommend going here to relax and would happily spend 2-3 days here just drinking Turkish coffee and reading The New Yorker or something similarly snooty.
