... and it was amazing. Santorini itself is built around the caldren of a volcano, which blew its top around 1640 bc. The explosion was 4 times bigger than Krakatoa. Moving approx 63km3 of material. The Caldren is very clear and distinct, and in the middle is the Cauldera which even today has hot springs,'and indication the Volcano is still alive. ... hot spring flowing into the ocean is situated. Our boat anchored and we flung ourselves off the back and swam our way towards the lukewarm water where we spent 20 minutes swimming around. Our third stop took us to the island of Therrassia. Honestly, we’re not exactly sure why we made a stop here because it did not add anything great to our trip. Had a smooth Catamaran ride from Mykonos which really made us happy after the last one.
The town of Fira is not too large, and was simple enough to find our accomodation.
We attended the Outdoor cinema for a showing of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes movie. Was a fun experience sitting under the stars in hot summer weather and being served cool coctails and beers for Amy´s birthday.
