    Hostel move day.

A travel blog entry by louisew91 on Oct 09, 2015

We had all decided yesterday to move to the hostel that Marieke was at as it was much nicer and was only a short walk up the hill. This was the place which we initially wanted to stay in however it was unfortunately full. The hostel certainly lived up to expectation and it had great views of the sea. This place was called barra beach club. It is definitely not suitcase friendly however as all dorms were situated on stilts and as we were in dorm 1, we had to walk up and ...

... frustrated us as we walked around to every place in town enquiring only to realise the only way was to go to the rodoviaria tomorrow and buy them on the spot. We grabbed some food and went back to the hostel to cook dinner, have a few drinks with the staff before Leesh got tired real quick and phantomed her way back to the room and I followed not long after. Leesh was ready out of it by the time I got back to the room and it didnt take too long to be gone as ...

... our dinner supplies and decided to just grab a few things as we decided to go for a little date night down on the water. Leesh whipped up a small salad and we walked down to the fish market. On the way, we checked out the night markets and grabbed out bus tickets to Jericoacoara for 75reais before walking what seemed like forever, before finally finding the small blue stalls selling fresh seafood. We grabbed a kilo of prawns for 35reais ...

We got up at 0700 on the hope of beating the heat and squeezing in a workout before it was unbearable. We threw our gear on and made the quick jog to the beach. It was not cool at all. It was sweltering and only 0715. We managed to do a decent routine despite the heat but had to end it within half hour as it was getting ridiculous. We ducked into the water to cool off and the water was perfect. So refreshing and a great start to the day. We walked back to ...

... I needed to be – the LP map shows the airport to be 6km away but took over an hour, standing up the whole way.

Was hot (in my jeans) and tired, despite my kilo of buffet lunch – the ordeal with the buses and shopping the 4 floors of the market took it out of me so treated myself to a taxi back. For once, happy to get back into a/c.
