5 days of paradise is a hard thing to describe in words but here it goes. After a month of ************ Fazenda Tucuruvu we travelled 7 hours north of São Paulo to the town of Angras Dos Reis to catch a boat out to Ilha Grande. ... near the Lopes Mendes beach and after a short walk we arrived. The beach was huge! Most of the people were concentrated in one small section, where the trail to the smaller beach started, so we wandered up towards a less crowded area. We spent the day there, and managed to build a BBQ pit in the sand to cook our sausages in. ... Tam and Andy book a diving trip for the day after tomorrow and I book snorkelling. The following day it was much if the same beach time! This time we walk to the local beach, just follow the Main Street out of town and you hit a small national park, there are little beaches and watering holes along the path. There is also a 1.7km hike to do that takes you to the prison ruins but we decided we would do this the next day. It's not as easy to find shade along this ...
