... early evening. After a tasty dinner and drinks at the hostel - and a random happy birthday song for Scott led by the hostel manager - I was ready to hit the hay! The next morning we left early for Sao Paulo, and I was sad to be leaving such a paradisaical place! Ilha Grande was truly gorgeous and I'd love to go back. On the way there we'd met a couple who were hiking around the whole island over the course of two weeks - definitely putting that on my to do list!

Day 11- I've been growing a beard for about 3 weeks now. I feel like a new man. A seedy man. Might have a shave tonight. Arrived at Ilhe Grande this arvo. Rocked up by boat. Everything looked fake. Why is it only after a shower you can see the horrendous self ...

... older. We left at about 4 pm, we wanted to catch the boat back from the other beach. There was one at 4.30, but it was full when we got there. 15 Reais to get back. But we didn't wanna wait, so we got a taxi boat back for 20 Reais each. Which was a lot faster then the bigger boat. The big boat left at 4.40 and we left at about 5 and we passed the other boat on our way back. When we got back I relaxed a bit outside ...

... i pointed out that if she went later it would be rain season. That night i researched my next move. I sent volunteer requests to Bolivia and peru and now i must wait. I also researched backpacker companies that arrange transport to some of the places i'd like to see like the salt flats and Manchu Picchu--- etc. Hopefully i will hear back and then i can plan my next move. Today we head to rio where my debit card hopefully awaits me. We shall see. I will keep you posted. ...
