      It was such a struggle to get up when the alarm went off, even though I'd already pressed snooze at least eight times! Over the past three days we had managed to almost completely empty our backpacks and spread most of our worldly possessions from one end of our shed/room to the other.       ... I think that was only if you fell at the top and rolled down. The donkeys looked fun, but smelly and Chris wasn't keen. The gondola was smooth and quick and gave a good view of the hot stairs shared by donkeys and pedestrians. We could also see some of the cave houses our guide had mentioned. Apparently -way back in the day- the rich sea captains built their houses high on the cliffs so the poorer people, who had dug small caves ...

      ... the way home for a few night caps. There was a local girl singing there, one word, angelic.

      Day 3 and after some relaxing on the beach in the morning we thought we better leave the safety and calm of kamari and explore the island. We first went to Fira for a look around. It was pretty busy and full of tourists. Ashe enjoyed some shopping and we took in some amazing views across the caldera and along the cliffs. Pretty spectacular!!

      ... when you have little pebbles in your feet! We caught up to the crew and then we took off to the hot springs.

      The boat never gets too close to the hot springs so if you want to go, then you have to swim out to them. On our boat, we were the only ones that wanted to swim out to the springs. The locals said the water would be a bit cold at this time, but that the hot springs would be much warmer. Uh oh... to swim or not to swim... it ...
