... br> The village Fira, which is the capital, is filled with lovely whitewashed houses, winding narrow streets, arcades, and a quarter where Catholic nobility once dwelt. The view from the top is stunning, and as we sailed in the houses built on the mountain top from a distance looked like snow.
Back to Fira where we walked up and down streets with amazing views. The School teacher complained that we ...

Ya sas, kalimera (hello, good morning), Dinner Monday night was OK but not great, at Simos restaurant about 50 mtr away. We shared calamari and a Greek salad & believe it or not but Jus ate feta and liked it! Cathy and Mark at the table next to us are from Caringbah and staying at the hotel just next door to ours. They're both teachers, Mark is a scientist at Trinity Grammar, Summer Hill and Cathy teaches pre-schoolers 3-5 years. Nice couple, only a few years older than us, ...

... of a tap at the bar. That didn't deter the beer lovers, they drank it and had a second one!
From there it was over to Nick's Gyros stand to introduce our friends to the best ever fast food in Greece, Gyros a pita bread wrap with meat of your choice, salad, tzatziki and chips, after that we just found a little Jazz bar to wait for the storm to subside. Music, wine and music all good.

Today we will make our way up to visit the O'Brien's ...
