We have had another amazing day. We left the motel this morning and had breakfast at Mr D,s it was like stepping back into the 50's. They don't understand savoury here, wanted to put sugar and maple syrup on french toast! We did have a nice breakfast though and we then continued on Route 66 to complete the 158 miles. ... time. The two lane road meandered around the mountainous terrain with remains of old gold mining areas within spitting distance. Around one bend we found ourselves face to face with 3 burros in the middle of the road. They seemed somewhat annoyed that we have ventured into "their neighborhood" but eventually trotted off the road and further into the valley.

... The next gas station was another 3 miles away from the highway. Beautiful jaunt through the country to and from the gas station.

Hit a bit of rain in Kingman, but then clear skies into Fort Mohave.

2368 total miles (this way). I still have to go back east-ward!

... which seemed to elude me that day.......brutal....I'm not sure why I play that game sometimes. Liz played very well.....she finished with the ball she started with.

The seafood buffet at the Avi resort was awesome, I don't care for buffets but this was truly excellent. I just felt sorry for the dozens of crabs that lost their legs just for me......oh, and the desserts were incredible.....I'm not sure how the salad bar was ...

... as trying to get off and back onto it. Within 2km of leaving the shop we were travelling on a 5 lane freeway- on the WRONG side of the road, and on huge bikes (compared to what we normally ride). Not necessarily the easiest start to our trip. Unfortunately, Michael's bike needed filling up while we were still in LA, thus our need to get off the highway.
