I have to admit the food was awful!! breakfast wasn't to bad. but its very cheap to eat in Kos town and you can get some lovely food there.
the hotel staff were excellent, English speaking and very friendly. they go out of there way to make sure your entertained.
The pool is very nice and the hotel is right next to the beach.
The rooms are nice, very clean, maids come round every day to change your bed and give you clean towels.
The staff made my holiday although alot of the entertainment was in german they get to know you on a personal level aswell.
over all had a good holiday nice pepole, nice beach, nice pool, lovely weather, terrible food!!

Arrived at the blue sea hotel 24th sept-2nd october, after reading the reviews I felt a bit scared. Hotel was very clean and tidy, fair enough a lot of germans but english people also. Food wasnt great- but everyone else seemed to be scoffin it down, even the hotel staff. For breakfast, boiled egg, frankfurters, fresh bread and potatoe fritters, cereal which was ok, but i expected some bacon and toast. MILK WAS HORRIBLE full fat milk which I dont like. Cheese and ham toasties as snacks were ok, would of prefered them for brekkie. Dinner and lunch wasnt my thing- pasta and meat. Icecream had to be paid for (cornettos) but were worth the 2 euros. Pool was great and had a few lylows and boats to play with. Hotel was right on the beach, beach was a bit scruffy but ok enough to sunbathe. Rooms were really clean and nicely decorated- peachy bed covers and curtains and white walls. Had MTV on the tv which was really only english channel. balconys had really nice view of the sea. Entertainment was mainly german BUT they did speak english and were really funny and outgoing as were the staff at the hotel. TOLIS was a bit of a perv, the barman but hey. Kos town was cheap to eat out though and drink. Bar street was great look out for Emile the albanian lovely lad. Sports cafe and the tex mex plate do lovely meals and lovely cocktails. Id reccommend the island trip to Nisyros (volcanic island) and Bodrum, Turkey. Kos harbour is nice of a night. Taxi is 6Euro and 1.20 euro by bus. I think its being refurbished at the end of the season. Even the food was a bit rubbish,I would definately stay here again.
Fantastic Value

After reading the reviews on this site about the hotel, I was worried about going...but when I got there I was pleasantly suprised. The hotel was fantastic, and much more than I expected.
It is certainly up to its 3.5 star standard and on arrival at the hotel you are greeted by very friendly English-speaking staff that cannot do enough for you. There are two sites to the hotel, and our room was located on the side with the sports pool, bar, shop and disco.
The other site consisted of the restaurant, bar, lounge, animation room, pool and Theatre. The sites were seperated by a 50m walk.
Rooms were extremely clean and maids came round every day to change the towels, make the beds and generally clean the room and bathroom with every attention to detail. They even had a huge TV and a lovely balcony with table and chairs.
I thought the fact the disco was near our room was going to be a problem, but it was actually sound-proofed and you couldn't hear any noise what so ever. I got a good night's sleep every night!
Food was lovely. I can't see why everyone was complaining about it. For breakfast you can expect a choice of cereals, fresh cheeses and hams, as well as Greek yogurt and honey, fresh fruit salad and apricots. You are also offered hot food with a different type of egg every day (fried, boiled, scrambled with peas or omelette), chopped frankfurter (not my ideal choice), baked beans and potato fritters. There was also a sweet Greek dish and watermelon for afters. You can also help yourself to fruit juices and fizzy drinks in the restaurant or take your own drinks from the bar.
Lunch was ok. Pretty much what you would expect for dinner but without the soup.
Dinner was excellent. Everyday there was a different soup to choose from, and you would also be offered a choice of about 4 different savoury rices and pastas, Greek salad, Tzaki, olives and cheeses. Then there was a choice of a hot pasta dish. two different meats, chips (yes every day) and two choices of veggies, as well as fresh bread. For afters you can expect watermelon and a sweet dish such as cake or mousse.
The hotel was located about 3 to 4km from Kos Town centre and only about 2km from Lambi. A bus would run every 15 - 30 mins from outside the hotel from 7am to 11:30pm and costs just 1 Euro 20 Cent one way.
One down point for some people would be the entertainment, as it was mainly in German, and translated into English. Although I can't really comment on it as I went in to Kos Town every night and didn't stick around in the hotel after 9pm, but the REPs did seem to do a good job.
I can thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone, although i'm not sure how children would feel about some of the traditional Greek dishes we were served at dinner time. Although the hotel was mainly German 18-30 based, but when I stayed there, there were a couple of families, and many people aged over 30, and they seemed to be enjoying themselves.
This hotel was very good value for money!
Not that bad

I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. We did meet the couples who wanted to kill half the people in the hotel but we had a laugh with them. Luckily we used our heads and read the reviews on the hotel BEFORE we went so there werent any suprises for us as it clearly states 18-30 and although we are that age my friend who was pregnant and couldnt drink still had a brilliant time. Fair enough the entertainment is in german but half the guests are actually slovakian swedish and polish etc and to be honest it doesnt bother me as im there to have a good holiday. The food isnt brilliant but its edible, the rooms are spotless and our maid even tidied our clothes back up off the floor and the reps are excellant they made a real effort to translate all entertainment as soon as we made it clear we were english and they were all really friendly and fun. So for anyone who is alrerady booked in dont worry too much and for anyone who is considering make sure you read the reviews first instead of just whinging after x x

I just returned home today, First of I have to admit the food was a bad factor of the holiday. I was unwell due to the food which effected the frist few days of my holiday.
It was best to be first in line in order to get Chips which was the only decent thing as the hotel was German orientated. The food was the same everyday.
In end i ate in town which was alot better, including Mcdonalds!!!
It was diffcult being welsh & not understanding the entertainment, but i give credit to the Reps, they were fun!!
I was told it was 18-30 hotel but there were children around which concerned me as I just wanted to get drunk with people my age!
The hotel was clean & tidy and it had excellent views, including Turkey!
But on a final note, i would say it would not suit anyone british!!

Me and my friend both 18, just got home today 08-07-05. My holiday was ok but had a few problems.
Food - This was awfull me and my friend ate it one night and we had sickness and diarrhoea. The meat was raw, pasta not cooked properley, The nicest food was the saltey, garlic chips. Due to this we had to eat out spending our money.
Staff - All of the reps were really nice all could speak basic english, however the barstaff did not smile once, ladies beware of a barman called TOLIS he was being very rude to young girls and women and I could see that they were offended.
Drinks - The drinks were ok not much of a selection but we coped. The only beer they had was amstel which didnt go down to well but after a few it was ok.
Entertainment - The days wwere extremely boring as the hotel entertainment was poor it did not start until 4pm and then they would play water volleyball, and beach soccer and that was it oh and fitness for ladies. The pool was great in both hotels but I dont think that they were cleaned as it did smell a bit. The night entertainment was all in german and didnt look to good to be honest with you. but there was a beach party which was awesome and a disco which was like a school disco.
Do not accept any drinks off anybody as mine was spiked, not good.
Rooms - the rooms I thought was fair but the beds were awful it was like sleeping on the floor with a greasy blanket on you. The bath was tiny but had a nice power shower. Had an awsome view of the pool and the turkish coastline
Nightlife in KOS town - The night life was really good, reccomend going to bar street as there are many pubs for different countries (eg) Scandinavia, russian, austrian, german and british. The nightclubs were not bad club upstairs was rubbish it was mainly for Swedish it was just like a flat. My favorite was club fashion it was very lively and I reccomend you go there. there were other clubs but we were 3km away from the town from our hotel. You could get a oneway ticket into town from outside the hotel for 1.20 euro this runs every 10 past and 20 to the hour. The buses stop at 11.10pm so a taxi into and home from town was 6 euro.
If the Food, beds and entertainment were good I would of stayed another week.
This hotel is not sutible for families. only 18-30
NOT FOR ENGLISH
from A TripAdvisor Member
Worst Holiday EVER!
This hotel is nice, the staff are nice, BUT it is not a hotel that caters for English.
The entertainment is all in German, and one nights entertainment consisted on two german reps sat on stage at a table drinking cocktails! Apparetly this was call Cocktail Night!
Had to eat out a lot as the food was very bad, and unless you were there within half an hour of it starting you only got what was left.
Went with some friends who have been to many all inclusives and they couldn't believe how poor the food and drinks were.
Also the hotel was full of youngsters who thought that it was there duty to wake everyone up during the early hours, normal time about 5am!
It is the only holiday I have ever been on where I have been looking forward to coming home, and actually met people who were sad that they had to stay. One couple we met I thought would have killed someone had he had to stay any longer.
Dont go there

A holiday's what you make it!!

Just returned home on the 10th June with two mates after having a brilliant week at the Blue Sea Beach Hotel.
Rooms are small but ample with a reasonable size balcony (most with sea views) and are very clean. Maid service everyday.
Showers are on the small side however some apartments do have a bath.
Food is terrible, i'll agree with that. If you like chips and salad you'll be fine. Towards the end of the week the meals were starting to improve due to all the complaints the reps had received, however meals in Kos town are very reasonably priced.
Drinks are served from 10am - 11pm at night. If you get down early you can drink enough of the free waterdowned alcohol to get you merry before you have to start paying.
Fair enough the entertainment is all German however you make your own entertainment on holiday.
Do go to the Beach Party at least once its a really good night plus theres a disco on site. This was very German orientated the first night, then more British started arriving. By the end of the week it was full of British.
I would reccommend going on the Greek night, lovely food, freeflowing wine (the first couple of glasses are hard work but after that it goes down like water) and amazing views of Kos and the turkish coastline at sunset.
Transport into town is only 6euros by taxi or 1.20euros by bus. Bus service runs from directly outside the hotel every 30 mins.
This has to be one of the most friendlist complexes i have stayed in, everyone talks to you no matter what age you are.
We paid Ł272 per person which was alot cheaper than any of the self catering packages we were quoted, so if you take that into consideration a little extra money spent on dining out once or twice wasn't that bad.
The amount of friendly people you get to meet makes the holiday all worthwhile.
If the price was right i would consider returning to this hotel.
Heil hitler!!!

We were not advised that the hotel was a german 18-30 base. Most of the entertainment was in german but they did work hard and we did not see an english rep.The accommodation was supposed to be all inclusive but after 11.pm drinks had to be paid for and there was not unlimited snacks or any free ice cream. The food selection was the same all the time and very limited and most of the hot dishes were cold.We had to eat out as we could not face anymore chips!!!
