... do we do next? Something inside! Biltmore estate, house gardens winery and village is very big around here. So we went. Oh no 60$ to get in. Not in our budget. We went to Walmart bought a bottle of wine and few bits and pieces, Maggie has brought a new camera so she can load it on her iPad so she does not need to take out her iPad everyday! Back in Durham we were able to pay a visit to Cam's place of work and meet with his work colleagues. His office is in the redeveloped American Tobacco Campus. It was so good to meet his colleagues, and there was a real advantage for us as well - on Cam's return to the office after our lunch he was called into his boss's office. Together Bill and Cam then planned our six week trip north and by the time Cam came home I had links to five maps of stages and printed out directions. ...

  • Met up with Jim and Darlene, who were with us on the Panama Canal cruise my sister and I took last November for lunch. They are staying in Ashville, NC so half way was Spruce Pines. We found a great restaurant for lunch.....Mountain View. It certainly lived up to their name.
  • On the way back to Boone, I stopped at Linville Caverns.

So wade and I stopped for a stretch and we were both complaining. The ride was so long and our backs hurt and we were tired and some Ducoti's passed us like we were in reverse. As we were sitting there a guy in a 1200 GS came around the corner, saw us and came in. First thing he says is, "what state am I in?" He goes on to examine that he was at the qualifying for the GS team USA challenge that will compete against 24 other countries ...
