... it all looks Art Deco but I'm not sure it can be that old. Maybe tomorrow we will get to see the old part of town that the book talks about. Had dinner in the hotel as it's still so cold outside and watched a bit of the superbowl while we ate our pork with potatoes & beans (a $6.95 Super Bowl special). ... and curio shops to take photos. I didn't take out the film gear as time is an issue...but we did a fair amount of digital work...and there are some cool places!

Our favorite Tucumcari motel was The Blue Swallow. At 80 bucks or so a night, there are cheaper rooms out by the interstate...but none with the personality of these. Everything looks original, including the garages to park your car right next to your room. ...

... for the Camp Sunshine Burn Camp based out of Arkansas Children’s Hospital. The camp is a 4-day camp for kids with disfiguring burns, and includes a 1 on 1, firefighter-to-child ratio during the camp.

In addition, the firefighters do a Paul Hoover Memorial Bike Drive where they collect as many as 200 bicycles a year, repair and redistribute them to underprivileged kids. The firefighters also do ‘Shop with a Fireman’ ...

... beautiful and generous amount of guacamole dip with fresh tortillas. We determined this tasty dish a winner and ventured on to an accompanying little number called the Shrimp Quesadilla. Flour tortillas blanketed sautéed shrimp, cheese and vegetables and were adorned with tomatillo sour cream sauce, cilantro and parsley. I know the word awesome is completely overused, but nonetheless, this ‘entrada’ was AWESOME.
