... Then up the funicular to the mountain overlooking Como, not happy with view at that height we decide to walk up to the lighthouse. Snow covered following last weeks cold blast we make our way up - a long way - finally arriving at 'the lighthouse'. The view was spectacular, well the view as best it can be here with quite dense haze/smog. We could see the water but sadly the Swiss Alps, whilst could be seen, were blurry. (Switzerland is ...

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

      ... about another security firm.

We had to stop on the way to take the obligatory photos, to prove that we wuz ‘ere. We took photos from the Italian side at a town called Cina before attempting the border crossing.

Drove down the mountain into the Swiss town of Lugano (named after the Lake). Straight away you notice the difference. The streets were wider and the city was more like the northern European ...

We flew from Paris to Milan, rented a car and drove the 15 minutes to Gallarate. The B&B where we are staying for two nights is owned by Sylvia who is the daughter of Augusto Balia . Augusto is the son of Mabla's brother. Mabla was a dear friend of my grandmother and grandfather in Great Falls and I have many childhood memories of gatherings at Mabla's and Ricoo's home when I was young and our family would drive ...
