      ... the Caribbean sea. It makes a lovely backdrop and having a beach on site is a great way to cool down after hiking around the complex in what feels like an oven. The only downside to these ruins are the other tourists. It's so close to Playa del Carmen and Cancun that lots of package tours head over so it can get pretty packed.       ... hidden in the sandy bottom. Swimming into the cenoté was definitely worth it too! Sadly we forgot to visit the photo shop at the end of the day to see our pictures! Silly us-we are not very good tourists!
