We stopped at some beach couches, bartered the man down to $10 for the couches and some drinks and relaxed for half an hour. We walked back up the beach to ...

... a speed boat from the beach in front of the hotel restaurant and headed off for a couple of scuba dives. The half an hour boat trip to the first dive site gave us a glimpse of a few of the island's secret surfing spots, where waves were breaking on reefs far out at sea off a coast line of sheer cliffs. The first dive site, Manta Bay, lived up to its name. As the boat arrived in the ten metre deep, mile wide bay we sighted our first Manta and it came curiously ...

... prayer, before almost baptising it with a swaying motion of their right hand, holding a flower dipped in water…. it’s all quite mesmerizing.

We stayed for three nights in Seminyak, which were just enough to enjoy its beach, beach bars and markets. The waves were not suitable for surfing so we only managed a quick dip and play here. The beach bars were very relaxing, boasting large beanbags and parasols – perfect for a spot of lunch and to keep ...
