Pun for the amazing hot tub and beautiful lakes in surrounding towns. I would love to return to this hotel some day!

We all slowly fell in love with Slovenia, camping in the pine trees, swimming in the lake and chilling amongst the mountains. The campsite was full of Dutch teenagers making the most of the activities on offer on the raging river running past the campsite. A great couple of nights enjoying the surroundings, even with some traditional Slovenian music thrown in as we ate dinner on the last ...

... on to Slovenia pretty quickly. And it was a great decision as we snaked our way through the mountains, the van coping admirably, with a new stunning vista around each corner. We headed to Bled and a campsite on the lake, but an avalanche of tourists for the Bled festival meant that it was completely full. ... visited relatives in the area, including my 85 year-old aunt who is my oldest living relative. Then I flew to Boston for 10 days to visit one of my best friends - we go back 30 years! After lots of fun day trips to Cape Cod and plenty of Maine lobster, I was on my way to Sacramento, again meeting up with friends here and in San Francisco. I also plan a quick trip to Los Angeles to catch ...

    Just Like a Fairytale

Before arriving in Slovenia, the only place we knew we wanted to visit for sure was Lake Bled. Seeing pictures and reading about other travellers' experiences led us to this decision. So after just a short bus ride from Ljubljana, we arrived in Bled, a town that describes itself as being like a fairytale, and it truly is. After checking into the hostel, which is really a man's house that he has turned into a small hostel of four dorm rooms, Tom the owner, gave us ...
