We stayed at Bill and Kat's horse farm for four days. First time we had dried camp and the campsite was the best! On Kentucky bluegrass overlooking the horses in their paddocks. I didn't know KY was so beautiful! Kat's horse Queen Song just had a foal. Queen Song is a pedigree thoroughbred but was let go by Clairborne Farms for unruly behavior. But after coming to their farm she calmed down and has become a great mom. QS is white but her foal ...

... him. He was a trucker and gave us good tips on where to avoid in the coming wintry weeks. We went over to Durand's house saw he and Greg's family and ate the best cake (it was Durand's birthday) Caramel frosted yellow cake with a caramel center. Caramel is the way of life here. And pie, bourbon balls, jam cakes, hot brown, salmon croquettes, yamellow, all these names of delicious things I haven't gotten to try but my mouth is watering as they go on and ...

The roads were incredibly windy and Chris had to be careful for the sharp turns. There are a lot of Pick-up trucks in this part ...

Another long day under our belts. After some confusion about direction, the group hit the back roads first thing this morning and we road the curves until 3:30 pm. We finished hwy 219 at Lewiston and someone suggested we change our route to hwy 60 to Charleston and then get on I64 to Lexington (next town). By 3:30 pm, we were ...

The day started as usual, getting Mac and Josie off to school. Meanwhile, back home, Mark and Cheryl packed up everything for our road trip adventure to D.C. At 2:45, we said our good-byes to Rally and Skratch (: ( ) and went to pick Mac up at Wydown. Waited and waited, but didn't see any students leaving the building. However, we did see fire trucks and police vehicles. What’s up? It was ...
