... become used to US prices so after choosing 3 items at $10 each I hesitated at paying $20 for a shirt. $50 and 4 items later off we went. I've noticed the food in San Fran is cheap in some places but Australian prices in other places. And we don't have food poisoning this time so we are having 3 meals a day. And wine. New York was a lot cheaper. Tomorrow we have to take a bus to Oakland and then board our train to Santa Barbara. We are in a 2 seater roomette on the train - ...

Eventually a cable car pulled up that was full except for a little bit of room in the back next to the break engineer. Grampa told Mom and I that we should go, so we did, quickly, with no time to question him. We hopped up and held on. It was an awesome ride. He kept making jokes with us about ...

Dubbed 'the most windy road I the world', it was built in wiggly lines as the gradient was too steep for vehicles to climb up or go down safely. It is now a highly manicured, green road - where abundant flower gardens fill the space in between the bends of the road. We realised that this was the first touristy stop that ...

... after all, or at least left earlier. I was tense the whole way there, contemplated getting off and grabbing a cab as it was only about 7 km to the airport, but then knowing we had to find a cab, and then make sure it had a big enough boot space for our luggage, I thought it would just be easier to stay on the bus. We got to the airport at 6:17 am as expected - at least the buses run on time - and we 'hussled' our way through the airport, into the lift, up to terminal A, to the end ...

Then caught tram back up nob hill, when a car jumped the lights, tram had to do emergency stop to avoid crash-and dropped the cable, driver slammed on brakes, practically knocking over a ...
