... media. Your arguments invalid.' This stopped him and he shrugged. I then had to explain how the building collapsed and the way it did. Oh, and I told him who was really responsible: some ****** off terrorists. But you can't reason with a conspiracy theorist. The talk went to politics and I was getting a little annoyed at how much this guy thought he knew about communism and fascists when he knew very little and I grew tired of talking to him. So I went to my bunk ...
... 3rd night here because we have to get the van back at 11am on friday morning (or $50 every half hour we're late!) and its about a 4 hour drive from Sugarloaf. So we've decided to go back to Key Largo again. The resort was so immaculate and the view so special, that it would be great to have our last night in the van there. Also it was miles nicer than this KOA is.
Kids went for a swim when we got back, and then we had snack supper in the van.
... Mind you, in a country that drives on parkways and parks on driveways nothing surprises me!!
We met many people from Florida on this trip, most were elderly and had settled in Florida front all over the USA to see out their retirement. All said the same thing; a sunset over the Florida Keys is a spectacle not to be missed. We drove back from Key West as dusk fell. As the setting sun was behind us, I kept looking over my shoulder but could see nothing special that ...
... for the scraps. Try to look through the water and you will see them...................they just lay 'in wait'. Probably 80 to 100 lbs. with big teeth. Don't fall in the water there, for sure.
Not being a photographer, I tried to take a picure/video of Ralph getting a large Mahi to the boat.
If you look FAST, you will see a little part of the fish...............and then, trying to pull the fish up through the door in the back ...
... the early morning Key West strollers - little open in the way of commerce, but there was a nice coffee opportunity.Arriving at the Butterfly Conservatory, we paid up and were taken into a delightful world of colors and shapes floating around everywhere we looked. We have been to these before, but the level of activity was far beyond any we've seen - there were bustling bunches of butterflies *everyhere*...really beautiful. Oh, and if possible, it was even more humid inside ...

Blue Lagoon Motel - Key West stinks
This motel was a disaster. Checked in and before going to the room, went to the drugstore for some things. Went to the room and I have never been in such a bad room. Small AC in top of wall, holes in walls, bathroom had no cooling at all and holes in the shower, sliding door to back was nasty and would not open. For $158.88 you would think you had a larger room than a shoe box. I checked right back out and they would not give me all my money back. I am furious. I went and got a larger, nicer room for less money just down the street. I am still trying to get the rest of my money back from the cc company. It is in dispute, this has been since Dec, 03. I can't even reach the Manager.. never around. It is a rip off!!!!!!!!
Stay anywhere but here!
The advertised price was $89.00 per night, but we were charged $120.00 and we had to put up $100.00 cash deposit. The room was damp and cold, and not very well kept up. The place is a real dive and we should have been paid to stay there. We were also notified that our room was booked for the next day and was asked to check out of it early, they put us up in another part of the motel in a even worse room, and charged us more for the weekend night. Needless to say we will not use this motel again.
Loved The Blue Lagoon
My husband and I stayed at The Blue Lagoon Motel and we loved it! We thought it was priced right! We had a ball at Looney's. MY husband flew the Ulta-Light all around the Keys. Can't wait to go back!
Fun place to stay!
This was our second stay at the resort. The staff is nice, the rooms are clean. The bar is fun. The pool and pool house is very nice! Only thing needed is an ice machine. See you in November. RAS.
Do not stay here
The sign said the room would be $60, but we got charged about $130. The room we had was damp and had a horrible musty smell. The walls and floor had water dripping off them. The sheets also had what looked like dog hair on them although they allow no pets! When we asked for clean sheets we were greeted with a very rude man who wanted nothing to do with our commplaint and had a very bad attitude. We would definatly not go back here - ever!
Loved The Atmosphere
Motel was excellent just as promised. Loved the resturant and bar on the premises. Room rare was 69.00 a night . We stayed two nights and had an excellent time. Will stay again when we return. Alot more of a tropical feel than others on the island.
All That Is Promissed, Great
This motel, was all that was suggested. The people who wrote bad reviews must have wanted a 5 start motel. This is a 2 star with a great pool, jet skis and a terrific Lonney's restaurant. There was 5 of us with 2 rooms and booth wer nofrills but what do you want for a budget motel? Look a the pictures of the pl,ace and you see what you get. Hey, this was a older tropical Key west flavor motel. Can't wait to go back and will over and over. Room for 2 people was only $60.00. How can you miss. Besides who goes toi Key West to say in your room. It is for sleeping and nursing a hangover.
Can't recommend it
For the price they charge, this place is several notches below a cabin in the woods and maybe one notch above an ice house for comfort. If the cost equaled the discomfort and dirt, it might be worth it but it doesn't come close. Stay someplace with class for about $10 more a night. Key West in general was worth the trip. I enjoyed every moment away from the Blue Lagoon Resort.
A Dive, not a motel, stay away.
What an experince, Thy told us $79.0 A NIGHT and charged us $265.0 a night, we been roobed in our room, and was threatend by the so called motel manager when we complained, this is a rat infested, smelly and dangerus hole in the wall. STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE.
My Husband booked two separate nights at Blue Lagoon Resort for Dec. 25, 2002 and Dec. 31, 2002. We were quoted rates of $79.00 for Christmas day and $99.00 for New Years Eve. We received verbal confirmations and confirmation numbers over the phone on October 3rd of 2002. When it was time to check in not only did we not have a reservation but they claimed they did not recoginize our confirmation numbers. However they had run our credit card for authorization 4 hours previous to our arrival. They conveniently had vacancies for both evenings at inflated rates. We were charged $89.00 for Christmas day and $260.00 for New years Eve. There were no vacancies anywhere on Key West at the time of our arrival and we were forced to pay the asking price. This was out and out price gouging. Not only was the hotel overpriced but the Hotel was outdated and the rooms consisted of 2 double beds and no firnishings. The odor of disinfectant was rank and we were forced to sleep with the windows open. I am disputing my American Express bill and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce on Key West.
