... by a day or two. Tedeschi Trucks have a gig here in NY tonight and even though we have seen them in Australia, Paul is keen to experience them here. We have been lucky enough to score reasonably priced tickets. It is at the Beacon Theatre which is way uptown. Anyway, when we get there a jazz band is playing in the foyer and pretty much everyone is busy getting drunk at the bar. This is our first experience of a NY crowd, well for a concert anyway and by ...

... jungle, I didn't realise that they don't have road names here. Everything is fourth, fifth, sixth....avenue. It's easy to find your way around and the system seems pretty logical, but I was mega confused when I would ask for directions and people would just say, "go to sixth and 23rd street," I'd think huh!?!?! I'm so excited about exploring more of the city, especially Central Park. There is so much to do, that 7 days doesn't seem like enough ...

Met a lovely lady and her dog Jet when we were walking along the Hudson River. Missing our puppy dogs. Found a gorgeous park with a squirrel - teardrop park. Found foodie heaven and bought soup and salad .... Tiff beside herself she got her rice cakes and creamed cheese. Pinch me .... ...

... by journalist James Wolcott as "a drive-through cathedral". It certainly was. I took a lot of pictures. Once I got to the end of the bridge I watched some street performers do flips over people and hustle the crowd for money. They were very good at both. I wasn't really sure what I was going to do next. I sat down in a park to look at my map and decided that today would be a great day for some bargain shopping in Chinatown. Prices are always negotiable ...

No show day in NYC, take 2!

Another no-show day this week...while not good for finances, it was very good for everyone to have a day to themselves. As for ourselves, we slept in...though not as late as I would have liked. At 7am, we woke abruptly to a knock on our door. Bleary-eyed, I stumbled out of bed and found a fireman at my door (our lot is on their grounds). He apologized for waking us but one of the ponies was loose and he wasn't sure what to do. Since we were closest to the ...
