3 Hermitage Drive Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia, 1300-557-488
Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia nico.schultz... track from the ferry was soft sand and so pretty much straight away a jeep got stuck and we were stuck in a queue! Not long after we got stuck..... fun and games!
Lake Wabby involved a gruelling 45 min walk to get there... gruelling as you're walking uphill through sand! Awesome though... you get to the top and it's like being in a desert..... run down the sand dunes and you're in a fresh lake full of catfish.... cooool!!

Then it was off to find a place to camp for ...
Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia heledd... then went to Whitehaven Beach in the afternoon - it's beautiful!

The next day we wnt snorkelling on the outer Great Barrier Reef which was pretty cool, didnt see any sharks tho which I was very, very glad about and then after that we played loads of drinking games which included one where Julienne (a Canadian guy we met) had to either kiss a guys balls or run naked around the boat...he chose the later option ...
Whitsunday Islands, Queensland, Australia joannehousley... on a cruise of the Whitsunday Islands for the next day – after all visiting the islands is really the only reason one would visit Airlie Beach. With much excitement we got ourselves organised the next morning to spend the day cruising and island hoping on board the 23m catamaran named Voyager. We were in for a treat, the day was fully catered for (so no packing lunches) and we were going to visit three islands, go on a glass bottom boat and do ...
Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia serenitynow... but also tasted great!!

I’ll leave you with Erika for her little passage.

The Maxi Ragamuffin was amazing, I’ve never been on a sail boat - & never thought I would go on one either. But it was awesome! The boat tilts so much in the water when the both sails’ are up, that you have to sit on the up side & hold on for dear life. Luckily we were sitting on a bench so we had things to hold on to :-), the rest of the ...
Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia kwagjiani... last few hours of kid free time.

Wayne left with Greg at midday for the TAB virtually opposite the Big 4. (I knew there was a reason B.N agreed to the higher costs of this park.) Gill helped amuse the kids in the afternoon and enjoyed the pool with the slide.

An unsuccessful day on the punt saw Wayne abandon the TAB early and took Max with him back to his place to watch the footy final. Greg suffered through his poor day not willing to ...
Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia millersofoz... wasnt too comfy of a sleep but did manage to get a good sleep and it flew past. Arrived in the lovely airlie about 11am and checked into our waterfront hostel overlooking the ocean, lovely. more like a hotel than a hostel with a plasma tv. Randomly bumped into another 2 guys ed and rob from uni, and also katie pass later on in the night too! small world indeed.... went out to a bar and grabbed an ...
Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia nikkiyates... considerable tidying up. .

On Thursday I went to help out with shopping in preparation for the Hamilton Island Race week where we would be spending 8 nights with 8 other people in two 3 bedroom apartments. All the shopping was going over in the boat we were going to be racing on. I also managed to squeeze in a massive walk around the foreshore to Able Point Marina to check out all the boats. The place was going crazy, with a whole load of people packing up from Airlie ...
Cannonvale, Queensland, Australia kateandchris... yesterday cruising around, visiting beaches and snorkelling. We stopped at Whitehaven Beach. Debatable if it's the 2nd most beautiful in the world; I've never seen a more gorgeous one. The sand is 98.8% pure Silica. It was mined to make the lens on the Hubble Telescope! (don't ask me how I know that... gotta love random facts). You can clean your jewellery and brush your teeth with this stuff, so I'm told. After the beach morning, we moved on to Tongue ...
Whitsunday Islands, Queensland, Australia llessard2011... well that no-one else could understand us (“Shagger, check out the Reg Grundys – they’re completely chockers. What a Barry!”).

Before this trip I’d only ever been as far north as Townsville, and at lunch time we rolled in there. Following a quick stop at the top of Castle Hill to look out over the city and nearby Magnetic Island we were in Queensland’s largest regional city only for long enough ...
