Before we leave the Whitsundays we have booked 3 days on Daydream leaving Saturday and hopefully the wind settles down so we can take the kids to the reef. I also hope to have a fish tomorrow and do a little exploring beyond the walls of this park.
The reef and the red dirt awaits.

... anchorage when a strong wind warning was out as there would have been over 40 boats in this bay. We went ashore at Sawmill Beach where there are memorials to 200 years since Captain Cook sailed in these waters. There are some walking tracks from here which we will try another time.
After a lovely last night together we headed back to Hamilton Island early on Monday morning for Mark and Marion to catch their flight home.
... Whitsundays. We visited Whitehaven Beach, Hook Island, Hayman Island, Boarder Island and Whitsunday Island, With snorkeling stops at Luncheon Bay, Caves Cove, Blue Pearl Bay. It was a dream!

... couldn't stomach too much, so I had a ham,cheese and tomato croissant . Matt couldn't finish his omelette. Then walked back to camp. Still not feeling too good so decide to have a lay down, so Matt heads to the wharf for a bit of a fish. But alas comes home disheartened. He had caught 2 yesterday. Smallish queenies. I do a bit more on my painting, then it's time to think of what to have for dinner, so off to local shops and get some crumbed ...
... little to the town, but there was a road going off to Sarina Beach. Ah! we thought - this is where all the action is. The beach was nice and quiet, and yes, there was one cafe at the Surf Life Saving Club, but really nothing else. And I think that is all that club did, because there was certainly no surf. All the beaches here are very calm and flat, with the sand being a dirty brown colour. Apparently that is the effect of the Great Barrier Reef off shore.
