... tiny country of San Marino. At a mere 62 square kilometers, the hike is going to have to spill into Italy to reach the 100 kilometer minimum... which won't be a problem. Rimini is a cool city too and I'm glad to include it in my Superhike. Today I only have a few hours left of daylight, so there's not point in heading up to San Marino today. Instead I'm going to hop on a train up the coast and wander through a couple of beach towns. Beach towns on ...

... a magnificent mosaic feature over and around the alter. The mosaics survived the troubled times including WWII but not all the Greek marble remained in place. A number of churches were built in the area and the monks abandoned the Basilica for some time. In this time, the marble was removed/stolen. Marble from some of the other churches was recovered from their ruins and installed in the church.

... on the Adriatic, that they also would be in bikinis!

Now Italians! They have two sets of rules. None for themselves and heaps for others. I deliberately rode down the wrong side of a road the other day as I had missed the turn. Got shouted at and tooted. Italians who walk out onto the bike path without looking causing a near collision, abuse you. I nearly collected a woman today who stepped out from a bathing area onto the bike path without ...
