Fast sail all the way over to Otranto and even had the fun of Dolphins playing at the helm. Busy shipping lanes overnight kept us all on our toes and Eric plenty of time to practise his lights. Winds were so favourable we headed on South to M.Saint Di Leuca still arriving by 3pm in time for a cocktail on shore before getting Ellis already for next early departure ...

... wood-oven pizzas. The required stop for a gelato dessert then back to the hotel for an early bedtime in preparation for our 6:30 departure for our flight to Bologna and the start of our second week, in Tuscany. The first was a bike path running just meters from the water, through the rocks, and was certainly created by someone running haywire over the rocks and dumping gravel wherever they went, then returning to line it with rocks and call it a bike path. The second section consisted of a dirt road that had obviously recently been hit by a meteor shower, based on the plethora of potholes and distinctive lack of ...

From Sea to Shining Sea (Adriatic-Ionian, that is)

... we might see a winery there, but of course everything here closes from 1 to 4, including vineyards and we got to Nardo about 1. No problem. we explored a little, picked up more strawberries because the first batch looked so good we didn't think it would be enough, then headed on to Gallipoli, our final destination for the day. (This is not the Gallipoli of WWI) About 12 km from our hotel we came over a slight hill ...
