      ... no buses heading to town in time for the next departure so not until 8.10am could I leave for the next terminal (integraciao) for the 9am departure. Looked at other options on the north coast, but was the same story and continuing on to Recife not possible until 10am, so gave up and had a couple of espressos until 8.10am.

      ... and got a blank look from one of the traditionally clad waitstaff, when I said “café”. It turns out they actually had local coffee, brewed, if you’re lucky in a big metal urn, but with lots of sugar added – espresso seems to be the keyword to getting a decent one without sugar!       ... Pottery Barn. She just kept saying “wow” and “I could buy the whole store”. The tour made a stop downtown, slow traffic and busy shopping everywhere in Maceio.
