      ... of the centre, returning to integraciao yet again (ughh!!) before finally heading in the right direction, to the beach. Back across the 2 rivers, one of which has an interesting island for sale in the middle, ending up back where I had been 3 hours earlier.

      Was happy to finally enter to town and find a place with terrace & hammock that I could stretch to – decided on only one night as hard ...

      ... station – at least it was cool and the toilets were free but couldn’t find anything I could afford! Do need to start souvenir shopping soon.

      ... and Coke. Checked out email and facebook with the free wifi there...snapped a selfie and other photos. Then we realized we were late for the tour bus and rushed back through the shopping market, grabbed a 10 real bag of locally grown cashews, apologized to the tour guide ( we were 11 minutes late) who frowned at me for the cashew grab and smiled at Dawn, who wanted the cashews.       ... towns with one main street. After we had checked in we dumped our bags in the room and made our way to the beach. The coastline of Maceió is scattered with reefs, you can take a jangada (like a mini sailboat) about 1km from the shore to a reef with a 'sand platform' which you can stand on and swim around and even get drinks and food in the water.       ... supermarket or the spanish potatoes from kake. Coconuts were cheap at the beach, about 4 reals and the girls wear almost nothing sometimes. But time was too short to do a lot. The only excursion was to barra de sao miguel, a nice town were some marathon or something took place. Just to find the right bus in the center of maceio took me about an hour.
