Bliss Begur Hotel

... this period of year there are mostly aged people resting there, however I noticed there a lot of clubs near the beaches, so I consider that in summer this town is full of students. The beaches are sandy and what is important all those beaches are public. And one more thing - there are NO PRIVATE BEACHES in Lloret de Mar!

Tossa was just as they had described it – a lovely beach in a large bay with a castle on the peninsula. The weather was lovely as we explored the town and found a restaurant behind the castle wall to have lunch, where Alison got to taste paella at last. When we returned to L'Escala after a day in Barcelona, we went in search of a restaurant for dinner (it was only 10.30 after all and diners were just arriving). Although L’Escala has a lot of shops, many only open during the high season – however there seemed to be quite a few restaurants so we headed to one on the waterfront where we had pizzas (Milly’s was an interesting seafood combination including mussels still in their shells ...

The timeshare (Port de Rei) is situated a short distance out of the town of L'Escala. We drove through town following Dora’s directions, but were not too sure where we were headed, eventually ending up outside a large building built on a rugged coast overlooking the Mediterranean. Our plan was to inform the manager of our late arrival (on the next day) and then head towards Girona where we were to pick up Chris & Milly who were joining us for the ...

... and also you can do a lot of activities. So we thought that we could speak about our surroundings that we know very well and perhaps that can help the people who wants to visit our region.

apologies for the express entries this morning. WE have had no good internet in the last two days but really wanted to update you guys on our trip....
Now I have access to the net - but it won´t read my card to upload pic- tabarnouche....

En route to Cadaques I started thinking of a few funny moments that have occured over the past 2 weeks... I want to share with you and hopefully will make you smile or even beter laugh ...

escribo esto tirado en las playas catalanes. A la derecha, la muralla.
A la izquierda, la Minerva. Es la playa principal de Tossa de Mar,
medirá aproximadamente 200 metros de extencion y de la calle al mar
habrá unos 100 metros.
Esta muy bueno acá, hay sol pero no molesta, hace calor pero no
agobiante.
la parte urbana es pequeña pero muy linda, con callejuelas y todo muy
cerca!

Then to Cadaques and now I´m enjoying the tender beauty and inspiration of this sweet place. I visited the Dali House, where he lived off and on for 50 years with his wife and muse, Gala. What a story...what a house and setting. He was truly inspired and I was inspired by being there. He ADORED Gala ...

... the last day we got a tour of the city. It's constructed in the shape of a triangle, which was different. We saw the beautiful church (didn't see that coming, did ya?) and took a tour of the city walls, which was incredible. Storm clouds on the horizon behind the city. I was on top of the world. Then we drove back to Barcelona, and as Kortney and I got home, the rain swept in.

All in all, a basically perfect weekend! I didn't even get sunburned!
