We were planning to go to Liechtenstein but thought we may as well as it was sort of on our way. It's the worlds 6 smallest country so it would have been rude not to go..haha.

We didn't drive to the main town but to another.. where really there wasn't anything. I did get a photo with the tourist sign though. Had to somehow prove I'd been there!

Obersaxen, Switzerland acgwhale... apparently been trying to call us, but had the phone number of the team's technophobe, so he didn't realise!! They had a bit of a problem with working out where the maps we all had joined up, and following the roadbook backwards was almost as bad as going along it the correct way!! We had a Europe Road atlas in our car, so we gave it to them, on the basis that they give a donation to our charity.
<br ...
Landquart, Switzerland dirtyweekenders... found a spot. Touris tat and postcards were the first stop. Luckily the little kiosk took Euros - we hadn't thought of that! But he didn't sell stamps, and directed us towards the post office. They took Euro notes, but gave change in Swiss francs, which seemed a bit odd. Anyway, no choice, so the cards got posted. At ast we were back on track.
The way back to the car park ...
Vaduz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein dirtyweekenders... Feldkirch I got lost. Actually I was just trying to get to McDonald's because the group wanted a bathroom break and the public toilets here were not to our standards. Anyway, I drove past the McDonald's twice - once my fault and once the navigator's - and drove down a pedestrian only section of road before we gave up and continued on our journey out of town and deeper into Austria.
Feldkirch, Austrian Alps, Austria travelingdiva... building, and the government building. This area looks very modern but blends well into the surrounding mountains and old houses and buildings.

It was a sunny day but a bit chilly. I decided the best way to warm up was to hike up to the castle. I started walking up a steep hill that I thought would lead me to the castle. It passed through a beautiful residential area and eventually ended at a trail head. Perfect! From there I ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein travelingdiva... went out to party and we made friends with a group of Germans from Ulm. Diversion #2: We were all thoroughly disappointed with the manners, personality and overall attitude of the Swiss. Tamara and I enjoyed the service and Friendliness in Basel - perhaps because it sat on the border with France and Germany - but Zurich was quite unfriendly (with the exception of Hans of course) and Arosa felt close to hostile at times. I expressed this concern with one of ...
Arosa, Swiss Alps, Switzerland croxandlilt... German and the main export is Dental Equipment. The Swiss and the 'Liechtensteinians' are known for their fine motor engineering and small parts industries and mechanics. It was a beautiful drive into Switzerland. Such fine weather and the motorway was a breeze after the narrow, windy roads of the previous day. We arrived into Brienz Caravan Park, as arranged with our 2004 Rotary Exchange Student 'daughter' Sue, only to almost run over ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein jennykelly8/31/99 Tuesday

Davos to St. MoritzWe woke up this morning to a beautiful, clear, cool morning. We didn't have any large clouds hovering over the mountains like we have had. (NOTE: Today we are off to the winter playground of the rich and famous…St. Moritz, via the Glacier Express. I am really looking forward to this trip.) We have been on the road for about 1/2 hour and the view is "to die for". We are not taking the motorway, instead the mountain roads that wind through ...
St. Moritz, Swiss Alps, Switzerland pemalak... in clouds, so we were unable to see the valley below during dinner...too bad. Dinner was excellent. It consisted of appetizers (I’m not a big fan); the main course, which was beef & gravy with noodles and potatoes in a cream sauce, green beans and ham... and (the best part) DESSERT! The dessert table was out of this world...cheeses, plum cake, walnut & shortcake pie, warm plums with ice cream, and (yes!) warm STRUDEL with a cream topping. WOW! Europeans ...
