... Champlain. We parked up unbeknownst to us at a YMCA camp. The walk was beautiful as we trekked along the rocky shoreline of the lake, with the calm waters and green hills of New York State as the perfect backdrop. We didn't see much wildlife, only hundreds of dragonflies and ants the size of wasps. Afterwards we hit the road for the long drive down through Vermont, New York State and Massachusetts towards our hotel at Great Barrington. The road was ...

Nite-Ize review The Nite-Ize headlamp has been great, we have been doing more night hikes. Both of us have stopped using our Petzl lamps - due to the brightness and ease of use, that the Nite-Ize headlamp offers, over our Petzl headlamps. ... wet. Wednesday, July 16 2014 Woke up to more wet gear....seriously Big Agnes, your tents are waaaay too much money to have these issues. Get your head out your ass...and make start making reliable tents! As we headed North, I was looking forward to stopping at the General Store,.....but missed it somehow - no 2 liter Pepsi for breakfast :(. The climb up was rocky/wet and really screwed with my feet. It seemed to take forever.....then there was a road detour due ...

Somehow it's the end of our East Coast tour…I have no idea how that happened but it has. Dalton was yet another town we’ve been counting down the days to visit. Dan and his new (as in yesterday!!) wife, Mary were our gracious hosts last year…they put us up in their driveway, grilled out for us several times, and invited us to relax in their screened-in porch both evenings we were there. Their ...

... That said, superslabs proved quite useful in navigating around some of the more populated areas. There are few things more miserable than being stuck in rural sprawl gridlock when it's 86, sunny and on a bike.   A couple other items of note:

    •  went one exit, went home to get oil this morning. Boxers burn oil.
    • GPS fuse got tripped when I loctited the battery screws. Ended up having to fix that at a gas station in PA.
    • Brake failure ...
