My flight to New Zealand is in 4 days and I think I have everything ready to go. It is hard to say though because I have never planned for a trip quite like this.

The main supplies I will be bringing are:

The interiors mix striking, colorful style with homage to the generations of mill workers’ families who lived here. Dare to come...to Porches, to North Adams, to the Berkshires. You may never be the same!

When we got to Geneva on the Lake, the grand hotel seemed a bit dated which was confirmed by ...

... I myself lived in New York City until I was 6 and then grew up in a mostly immigrant area in a near-in suburb named Yonkers, very removed from the world depicted by Normal Rockwell. My father’s side of my family, though, were Protestants of Yankee type who lived in small towns in New York’s Hudson Valley not all that far from Rockwell’s studio in the Berkshire. It is their houses, their lifestyle, their beliefs and values, that I remember ...

... the country estate of Joseph Hodges Choate, a New York lawyer and U.S. ambassador to Britain for a few years around 1900, sits on a hill on the border with Lenox. The home was designed by the famous architectural firm McKim, Mead, & White. There’s a great house tour for those interested in architecture, as well as beautiful gardens and a Chinese ...
