... seemed well travelled but was only on a two week flying tour this time. Paul and Tracey were escaping the Christmas madness for a few weeks before they too had to go back home.

Carl set off again and this time we headed for a small private beach on a deserted island.

Only to find another boat had set up there. Never-mind, they didn't stay very long and we had the beach to ourselves then. We had the option to take the boat to ...

... by design, but it worked out perfectly for what we had set out to achieve. Langkawi is made up of 104 islands just off the north western coast of Malaysia. We did however manage to find a bank so stopped and withdrew money for the Perhettian Islands. We got back on ...

The name and multi coloured walls had to mean it was better than Daddy's. **** anything was going to be better than Daddy's. Happily or plain exhaustedly I accepted my single bed hiding behind a curtain with my own fan for 18 ringgit or approximately $6 a night. Dropping my bags and locking my valuables, a now routine task upon arrival, I decided to take a stroll to the beach and ...

New country, new habits, new everything

... new currency, new people, new everything. Weeks ago I already bought a cheap ticket from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur. But on second thought, it was an illogical thing to do considering the route I want to follow. So it would be easier and cheaper to enter Malaysia by land in the north and then travel southwards. So, on February 25th I took the night-boat to leave Koh Tao. The boat was basically one big dorm, packed with bunkbeds. We left the harbor at 9pm, and since I ...
