... months now and there was nothing here to make it stand out. We did enjoy seeing Snowball again, he was the largest cat we had seen. Him and Umar used to guard the front of the property and amusingly when Luke picked up Umar to see how heavy he was, he was so offended that every time Luke saw him, he got up and walked away. Anyway unfortunately Umar had passed on, but Snowball was still there and as unfriendly as ever!

... some good. Thinly concealed sarcasm to strangers is the British equivalent of committing a mass shooting. It feels good.

That evening we are having drinks and the view from Fox Hill overlooks the distant fields being worked by the local farmers. It’s harvest time and the stubbled remains of crops are set afire in the evenings, just as they were in the late summers of my childhood. Do they still do this in England? I’m looking forward to getting back there again.
