    ... There is also a yacht club, but not many were out today. Swimming isn't allowed. The reservoir covers a surface area of 72 acres, and holds 204.6 million gallons.
    We returned home for me to do washing, Sue finish mowing lawn etc.
    Just as we were considering the evening meal Vanessa, next door neighbour came and invited us to enjoy a drink with her and husband Martin in their back garden, which we did, then returned home for our meal.

    Saturday 30th

    Well, we enjoyed our short stay in Fleckney and the service in the local church was interesting. Really enjoyed the walk across the cows field to get to the shops and the church. Now, six days and only 9 miles (and 20 double locks) later we are moored just on the outskirts of Leicester near a little village called Aylestone.

    ... peaceful down by the river and we amble along slowly trying to engage her in looking at the flowers. We make it as far as Aylestone Mill Lock ( no mills or any industry now) and the retrace our steps for her to have lunch. It is our last time with her on this visit and although she is in pretty good health, at 98 you never know so it is with some sadness that we say ...
