    ... there were some mistakes in the investigation." If I continue, I know some smartasses will say, but hey, what about Africa? Indeed, Africa is corrupt, and things like that happen all over the world...but at least they don't pretend!

    The 8 months I spent in Botswana flew by and I'm 200% sure it was one of the best experiences ever. Besides a lot of new or refreshed skills to add on my CV, I learned a lot more than what any school or other job could ever have ...

    Glad to be back, we love Holland!

    Wednesday 13th August 2014

    It was a lovely sunny morning after a bad night for John who had a bout of stomach cramps and then a bad time! He thinks it was food poisoning and put himself on a 24 hour fast.

    We went to the Harbour masters office to sort out more details and then we set off for Steenbergen. We left the marina in bright sunshine and fluffy clouds and the wind was much better than yesterday.

    We departed Paris this morning and took the Thalys train to Brussels, but not before we learned one last valuable lesson. We had planned to take a cab from the hotel to the train station, easy we thought. The hotel clerk advised us that if you call for a cab from the hotel, there will be a 15 E reservation fee added to your fare immediately. Wait a minute...reservation fee? Haven't I heard that phrase before? Was this guy ...

    ... older, he would find a group of people with whom he could share good times and bad, and more importantly, to whom he could divulge all his secrets and turn to for help. He found that, he said, in us. I looked over at the friend that I traveled to Budapest with, and I could see she was almost crying, so I had to look away (I later found out that she spent part of the afternoon crying in her office). Needless to say, we ordered more wine.
