After a huge breakfast we boarded the bus on route to the Amber Fort just out of town. One of the most impressive buildings we've seen yet, it was filled with beautiful Hindu and Muslim architecture, a number of invasive monkeys and countless elephants which were decorated in paintings and hangings and were taking people up and down the steep climb …

Today we woke early and had a seven hour bus journey to Jaipur. Despite the lengthy trip boredom was never once an issue. Looking out the window was fascinating. All along the main roads small communities seemed to occupy every nook and cranny of the derelict buildings, along with the various animals that aided them with their daily chores; goats, …

Leaving Agra behind we set out for Jaipur with a stop along the just outside of Agra to see Fatehpur Sikri, a ghost city which was the former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar, built between 1569 and 1585. There are a couple theories behind the building on this city, one being Akbar's divine enthusiasm for the local Muslim divine …

Our drive day luckily didn't start until 8am yesterday so we got to sleep in a bit. I'm so exhausted still, I need a day of doing absolutely nothing. About an hour from Agra we stopped in …

We were given a rickshaw driver for the morning and he took us to visit the Amber Fort. There was …

Beautiful and peaceful place to stay in the heart of chaotic Jaipur. Rooms were comfy and beautifully decorated. Food was delicious. Pool looked nice and clean - just had no time to enjoy. Staff friendly.
