... protected from the worst of the weather as they face the Bristol Channel and may not be subject to as much erosion as the south coast. Unfortunately it was too hazy to get much of a view over to Wales, but could just make out the land in the distance. Continued along to the Valley of Rocks which as the name suggests has some great rocky features on the edge of the cliff. Back into town along the narrow streets with only occasionally room for a footpath to the railway for ...

And last but most definitely not least Granny and Grandpa in Topsham, who not for the first ...

... but not terribly impressed, still a lot of work to be done before it is complete and more businesses open. Went up to the cathedral, the religious and historic heart of Exeter. It is a most impressive example of a gothic cathedral, built in the 13th and 14th centuries with the soaring high ceiling, arches and interior decorated stone work. Lots of people buried in the church and some impressive tombs. The choir was practising for a service at 4pm, and the sound was lovely. We did ...

Gareth has now set sail from Plymouth at approximately 4pm. All feeling a little bit nervous today as the reality hits. Managed just about to get all of our stuff in the car. Fully loaded but we did it. Tomorrow is the beginning of a new era , very very excited. Enjoyed a full on day with the boys and Granny in ...
