I grabbed the bus to Frankfurt Hahn after checking flights and booking on a Ryanair at 06:45 this morning. I sat in the airport for a few hours as it was an early flight but it was fine. We left on time and despite a rather bumpy landing I made my way from Stanstead to Kings Cross for the train to Grantham and then home.

Kicking off day from Hucknall. 200+ mile jaunt down to Portsmouth. Kawasaki have clearly modelled that bike seat from a Guiness beer crate, don't fancy that at all.
The run down to Portsmouth is a necessary pain to get to where you want to be. This time we went down the A606, through Melton Mowbray and Oakham, joining the A43 at Northampton, completely missing the M1 which was a welcome ...

We discovered there was a well preserved windmill in our street - maybe why it is called Mill Road! Ellis Mill is the last of nine working windmills in Lincoln, built in1798 and still in full working order and quite a magnificent structure.
