Sunday the 9th August and three weeks to go before our trip to Italy. At the moment nothing is booked although we have identified a really lovely villa in the town of Cortona. ... stuck.when we were alright again we help tidy Christopher's woodcarving shed, by taking all the nails out and then sorting them in to categories. His shed looks much cleaner now. After that the girls arrived back, we lit a fire, had some dinner and then me, Oliver and Mum went to the movies and saw the Avengers Age of Ultron. We all liked it a lot. Especially end ...
... number of attractive old buildings. I noticed the old Methodist Chapel was being turned into a private residence. This was once the heart of a very strong Methodist area but times have changed.
We had cider and a meal at the Turks Head and by this stage were feeling a bit jaded. I texted the bike man to pick us up in the next village and he gave us a lift back to Lincoln. The rest of the afternoon we spent mingling ...
... room. Today, was a nice relaxing day!! I had nothing planned until lunch and spent the morning sleeping and lounging around. Then for lunch , I went with a bunch of the Girls for a traditional Sunday dinner. It was like a thanksgiving feast , compete with all the English fixing( meat, potatoes, a few vegetables , and Yorkshire pudding). It was very yummy but I won't want to indulge like that every ...

Lincoln is a pleasant surprise, a sort of smaller and hilly version of York.
This is the centre piece of the shopping centre, the River Witham, and more swans than I even remember seeing in one place.
A quick coffee, and in my case a slice of carrot and walnut cake to revive us, and we set off to see the cathedral.
