    ... the end result. So after two very messy hours in the kitchen, I had a lemon meringue pie with a crust that was too thick and buttery (the substitution for shortening is butter, but 25% more of it), and a meringue topping that was too flat. I was never good at making crusts. I also had to hand-whip the meringue since we don't have a mixer. Brandon's tells me it was good, but I think he is just being nice because of the blood sweat and tears that went into it. He's a good husband...

    ... Wurzburg tomorrow because the concierge had told me earlier that this would be the town where we'd love the Christmas store. Tonight, though, the cruise director let us know that since tomorrow is Sunday, most of the shops will be closed. He said there was an outside chance that the Christmas store would stay open, though. I guess we'll see. We still have several more stops in Germany, though. And I'm doing pretty good with souvenir shopping!

    None of us had ever been to Germany before, so we just did not know where to go, since Frankfurt is so large.

    A German worker at the airport told us to go to Hauptwauche where the bars and restaurants are, and eventually we made it there. By this point it was a breeze.
