... amp; speaks very good English so communication is not a problem (unlike our last site in Germany!); fees were €20 a night with ACSI card, facilities were spotless although a little walk away from our pitch but you need to take your rubbish with you when you are going out as the bins are a long walk from anywhere. Security is by a barrier with key provided, and we had a very comfortable night ...

... nter had bought us lots from the bakery, so we had a relaxed coffee and cake before heading off to the airport. We were very early, so we drove to the Fuelbecker Talsperre reservoir on the way, which was beautiful as ever, and then arrived nice and early to have a relaxed time in the airport. We ate pizza and got into the waiting room early, which is always nice. A short flight and a long drive later we finally arrived home, safe and sound!

... on a route back to the site! Managed to work out from the Bus Route which direction Winterberg was so followed the road figuring it would be the quickest route! There was a lot of climbing (Again), hail storms with zero visibility and more thunder, I arrived back after 16.5 miles of riding and 1600ft of climbing!

... was so nice (and cheap) we decided to stay a
second night so went for another cycle, the opposite way round the
lake and visiting the town of Korbeck (Sp??), which is by the lake,
it seemed a bit of a Seaside town with little happening, there was a
Supermarket at least so we got some supplies, the cycle was 12.5miles
in all..

... tandem with me. I did manage a couple of descents with varying degrees of success but the earlier fall had sapped my confidence. We are no experts clearly but we did have great fun trying and did accomplish a couple of decent runs. So Winterberg is a lovely charming town and our hotel is excellent. Shame the bobsled run shut yesterday but never mind. So it is Wendy's birthday tomorrow and any wishes you can post will be more than welcome. Wish you were ...
