Up and away to Saltzberg early. Lovely travelling through Vienna woods, beautiful countryside and gorgeous traditional Austrian houses. Got to Saltzberg about 11, and met our gorgeous guide, Veronica. She took us on a walking tour of the old city, showing us Mozart's birth place. So many beautiful old buildings built round courtyards and squares many now with shops and cafes underneath. Some of them have dates on them, the original date of construction painted on, ...

We saw the sun rise over the Danube this morning as our day started early Wolfgang wanted us on the bus by 7.40am not a minute later. I think it was 1 degree. ... roads, checked in and worked how to get a train ride into the city it was almost dinner time. One of the places Luke had recommended was Cafe Hawelka. We navigated our way there, found a table and asked for a menu. The waiter looked down his nose at us and said "we are serving cake or sausages". That was it, no other explanation or information was forthcoming. While I was trying to process the idea of a cafe that only served cake or sausages, he turned on his ...

Today we travelled to Salzberg where we did a tour with a guide around Salzburg. Then a 4 hour trip to Vienna. We are staying at the Hilton overlooking the Danube. Beautiful room. Dada has taken over a thousand photos so lucky I got the additional card. Tonight we went to an Austrian dinner in the Vienna woods. Fantastic night. The musicians were amazing and the food was wonderful. We have decided to include ...
