    ... split. We went next door to a restaurant that was serving food and asked for a table. A waitress waved us into the back and said no problem. Off we went, round the back, but guess what?, no table. Back round the front, huh?, "oh no, there wouldn't be a table round there now, how about you come back in half an hour".     ... was very lucky during the war as it was hit by only one bomb (in the ballroom) but the damage was subsequently repaired. As the photographs show the 600 acre grounds are extensive. Despite snow still being on the ground only two weeks ago, the tulip displays are well established and the beautifully trimmed trees are coming into leaf.
