      The day began early with a tour of the Schoenberg Palace. A truely opulent and magnificent establishment carefully restored by the Austrians.       ... was Venus Von Willendrof. This statue is 25,000 years old and beautiful in person- you go into a special chamber and she is encased in a well lite glass case. Then we met up with Theresa and climbed the 343 stairs to the highest tower of St Stephens Cathedral to get a spectacular view of the city.       This morning visited the Schonbrunn Palace and gardens. Arrived early as big Holiday crowd expected. This was built as the Summer Palace for Hapsburg Empress Maria and was only used for four months of the year. The Palace was originally a two hour carriage ride from the Winter Palace in downtown Vienna but now the city has grown to absorb the grounds of the 1,500 room Summer Palace.
