    ... the 8th century - WHOA!

    While we didn't go into any of the museums (we spread these out so the kids don't get too bored with them), we did stop and enjoy a traditional treat called a schneeball (snowball) as we meandered back to the camper van.     ... 17 years for Ludwig to build the castle, of which only 1/3 is finished. He lived there only 172 days, before he was mysteriously drowned at the age of only 40. We all decided that someone got sick of him squandering a fortune, so they "did away with him". However, the castle instantly became a hit and people started touring it only six weeks after he died. And as you might know, it also became the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty's castle.

    ... and walk. Aunt Marge got out, found the hotel, confirmed that we had reserved parking, and then--we still could not figure out how to get to the lot. Hans wanted us to get out and walk again. Frustrated, we gave up and drove to Schwangau and paid to park in one of the lots there. We arrived around 12:10, so we still had plenty of time to pick up the tickets.     ... and champagne like I have never tasted before all made this the best meal I have ever had in my life. After such a good meal and full day of hiking, Kiera and I both fell asleep with all the lights and TV on - a sign of a good time!
