... on to Slovenia pretty quickly. And it was a great decision as we snaked our way through the mountains, the van coping admirably, with a new stunning vista around each corner. We headed to Bled and a campsite on the lake, but an avalanche of tourists for the Bled festival meant that it was completely full. Ah, what a time it was - we were all set with a lovely apartment overlooking a beautiful valley, surrounded by snow mountains and a view of Lake Millstatt. Life was great - the air is simply pure and clean, the food amazing, the people are friendly and we booked 6 months. Spectacular mountain views from the top of the Reisseckbahn. First take a three stage cable driven trains up an incredibly steep slope following a hydroelectric dam pipeline, then a tiny train through a tunnel under the mountain. ... was not up to scratch missing the only café on route for ages so we ended up stopping in a supermarket car park eating some very nice Austrian Sandwiches (which Allegra hated and actually spat out). Paul dropped some of his on the floor as well which he didn't cope with very well and sat on the steps of Sven in despair (I think it was the straw that broke the camels back). He did however pick it up and eat it anyway.
