... village is so peaceful. Later we go down to see Gilberto's mother and brother so I can say goodbye to them. They are very lovely people and I have enjoyed spending time with them as well this visit. They have a Christmas present for me that I'm not allowed to open until Christmas so that when I do, I think of them! Off for pizza for dinner and then home to pack my ...

... the coolest skiing I've done. I had never skied where I was making my own course, it was a great feeling. When I fell down, which I did plenty of times, it actually felt good! I liked falling down, but getting up was the hard part since my poles would go infinitely into the snow. We walked around the walls of the town and then through castle. A lot of the shops and cafes are closed for the winter and there are not many people walking around. It's really nice being able to see these places without hoards of people around. They each have a quiet beauty about them. We continue driving up the ...

Once again we had a nice hotel buffet breakfast and left Chiavenna around 10:30. We left Italy and returned to Switzerland for the day. We had a long day on the road today. We drove through some of the most winding hairpin curves I think we have ever driven through. But the mountain scenery was spectacular. And, again, the weather was gorgeous.

We drove to the town of Bellinzona, which ...
