    Gili T

A travel blog entry by amy.marvell on Feb 05, 2015

Gilli T is amazing, the island itself is really small and you can cycle around the whole thing in about 45 minutes (we're giving it a go today). One side if the island, closest to the other Gilli Islands is where it's all happening. All of the bars, restaurants and markets are along this side as well as the harbour (not really a harbour just a bit where all the boats park in the beach). There are no cars on the island, people mainly get around on bikes and if you want you can ...

Over the next two days, I mostly dove. During my ...

... dip in the pool to cool down, got changed and made our way over to the beach. The beach itself was beautiful, much nicer than in Kuta with completely clear turquoise water and white sand. However, the beach was quite busy with barely a free sunbed in sight. We eventually found one after walking up the beach and had a chilled day in and out of the water. The place is a great spot for snorkelling with loads of coral below. That ...

Granny, Pops and an intruding lizard

The view was staggering. Our chalet at Sempiak Villas was a couple of hundred metres up a steep hill from the shore and there was an infinity pool from which we could bob around and take it all in. Beyond the mile-long crescent of white sand beach about a dozen interestingly shaped headlands vanished into heat haze on the horizon. This vanishing point was also exactly where the sun set, making for a spectacular daily show which the photos just don't ...
