        ... a kitchen, hot showers, a latrine, and a cabin where you can eat or just hang out.

        Julie and I share one cabin, and Grace and Zan another. Grace and Zan barely know each other. This is when they find out if they can stand each other’s company.

        The weather is mild, there are no bugs, and we fall asleep with the door to the cabin open. The voices of crickets and loons accompany us to sleep.

        Tomorrow is the big day!

        We woke up relaxed and well rested, but looking at low ceilings and rain.

        I had harbored hopes that we might head to just outside Boston to spend the night and take in a Red Sox game, but it was proving to be too complicated and costly to pull off.I was used to Seattle ticket prices where good but cheap bleacher seats could be gotten for $25, but the cheapest seats in Boston were more than 4 times as expensive.

        ... many mosquitos. that's the problem around here in the north woods, mosquitos. we are spoiled living in santa fe in that regard.

        it was so good to see our friend julie, she is living in la now but was on the east coast for a wedding, so she drove up here to visit us and spent two nites. we both have been missing our friends so much so that helped some. .
