... really shady right? Well , it is exactly how it panned out except we made a friend from England as we waited and he quietly sat with us while I fed stray dogs and my mate watched our bags.

My favorite piece of this trip thus far is being on my own and this is because it forces you to step outside of yourself and make friends that are in the same boat as you. There is a communal trust and a communal bond that ...

Mesec i po dana - Predstavnik

Hm... Kako bih poceo o utiscima?

Poluprazni hoteli, poluprazni restorani, poluprazni autobusi ...

Plovdiv to Nessebar (on the Black Sea)

Plovdiv to Nessebar (on the Black Sea)

Sunny 30 degrees

We made our way out of Plovdiv through the city and then along a cobbled road where we saw another stork nest, this time on a church steeple. The drive to Nessebar was fairly easy with some motorways and reasonably wide roads. The passed huge fields of barley, sunflowers (not yet flowering) and vineyards. We arrived at Nessebar but found it is only open to residential traffic so had to park ...

A short day

Todays ride was 28 km (under 20 miles). The reason is that the next hop would be a bit long if combined with todays ride. So I had the luxury of a late start. I went down and had breakfast and the cheeky man then charged me a further 2.50 on top of the 40 lira I'd already paid for his room with non functioning aircon and electric that blew for 45 minutes last night. It was reasonable but not great and certainly not worth e30. The pricing of ...

Bulgaria

While staying on Bulgaria's surprisingly stunning Black Sea coast, I took a trip to the nearby local jewel of Nessebar. Nessebar is a pictureque and small town with thousands of years of history under its belt. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site and is more traditionally Bulgarian than the neighbouring beach resorts although some of its charm is lost by the huge number of tourists and souvenir ...

Finally - our little town!

... his place which was a bit yucky. Cement floors and a dingy little shower toilet combo and 4 single beds which he thought was a perk. We said we would have a think about it so he took us next door to his friends house and it was like the Taj Mahal with all the marble, double bed, TV and also cheaper. We took it. Spent the arvo walking around checking out the place. Had a pizza slice for tea and Greg tried the local tradition of mayo and tom sauce ...

MTV Spirt of Burgas

Burgas was hosting the first ever MTV Spirit of Burgas festival with Groove Armada, Koseen, Ministry of Sound etc. It was situated on the beach, had an electric atmosphere, great music and was bouncing! All for £20 as well. If you happen to see the festival on MTV you will probably see me & G. Aside from the festival there is nothing happening in Burgas.

Sunny Beach - Blackpool in Bulgaria

Sunny Beach is a holiday resort on the coast of Bulgaria. It's basically sunbathe all day and booze all night. Lots of British, Sweedish, Norwegian, Dutch and German tourists. Not the nicest place in the world but good for a chill out and a few nights on the lash.

Off Roadýng.. Velkas to Malko Tarnovo

Burgas to Malko Tarnovo (95km) Best bit: Huge national park (1200km of it) Worst bit: hot! Looking at my map I had two choices on how to reach the Turkish border today (a) via a big red road (b) via small windy village backroads Red roads in Bulgaria are invariably mini motorways. The associated terror levels with these (for a self-confessed softie like myself) are much like a ride at Alton Towers with no safety belts. The ...

Reaching the Black Sea

Velki Preslav to Burgas Distance 162km Best bit: sun Worst bit: having to throw myself into the gutter 5 times today to avoid oncoming traffic!! Well, the Black Sea isnt black. Its kind of a rich blue with gentle waves. The sand feels good under my feet :)
