... him fifty dollars. I asked if the Lord told him where I should take it from- checking or savings.
About another forty miles west of there is another little town called Demopolis, very heavy into agriculture. Then I headed southwest towards Mobile, along the way I see a site that brings me back, a big white tent off the road about a hundred yards and a sign that says “Camp Meeting Tonight” . It was ...
... another LaQuinta in Biloxi. I have been very impressed with the updates and cleanliess of the locations we have stayed.
Alex continues to enjoy hotel life. The world is his playground...or his resting place. The girls steal the show everywhere we go. I trimmed their faces before leaving Brownsville to keep them neat and pretty. Poodles must always look their best.
Rob Troke entry: Day 30, June 1 Wake up late. Ted's turn to empty sewage tank. He is not enthused - I, having emptied it for the first month, have no pity. Some manual labor will be good for the Investment Banker. He waits for instruction not wanting to learn through trial and error - would have been funny to see the sewage hose winging through the air like a wounded snake in his hands. We walk through the steps. Gloves on hands, Ted ...
Biloxi, Mississippi, United States tednims... a fun little 2 hour detour. Ooops. Once we were back on track, we drove through the heart of Mississippi headed straight South. We stopped at a place called Smokie's for BBQ for lunch. We had fried green tomatoes (SO GOOD), ribs, pulled pork, and beans. All were good, but we are still looking forward to Memphis next week. :) After about 9 hours in the truck, we finally pulled into Lloyd and Stephanie Heberts' house at about 6pm that night ...
Biloxi, Mississippi, United States smcclintockA nice and early departure from Mississippi, heading towards the wide open spaces of Texas. passed the "Cross" along the way- what a sight. Tonight's stay in a small town just outside of Dallas. Long day, lot's of traffic towards the end. and 10 hours of travelling.
Dallas, Texas, United States pawelek... We are excited about our new venue and although we had thought about Vegas 2 years ago when we sold the Beal House Inn, we were swayed to move to St. Petersburg instead, and although we made many friends (You all know who you are and we miss you) and Elements Global Cuisine became a success, we are pleased to be on our way to Nevada. We will keep you updated
Gulfport, Mississippi, United States pawelekWhat a noisy night that was. There are plenty of people living in motels around Houston, maily the refugees from the hurricanes who do not seem to want to go back. We heard on the radio that the state insurance was warning that they would not endlessly pay for people to live in motels and that they needed to find a place to move to. We sadly had to move on and leave Texas into newer states (Louisiana) and added to the ...
Biloxi, Mississippi, United States veromarcos... decided to try the ***** table again. After losing half my money, I walked away and found an empty table with a game called Mississippi Stud, where I proceeded to win another $100 quickly. Then I was introduced to three card poker and spent the rest of the time at that table, eventually finding myself taken in by the chips and betting $150 per hand! It's probably what happens to those people in "How to Be a Millionaire" when ...
Biloxi, Mississippi, United States lgrubbs... can be put up. There are three steps in the mold process. The first step is scrubbing, where we use wire brushes to scrub all of the walls in the house (all of the houses are gutted so its just wood). After we scrub we let the dust settle and then we vacuum all the horizontal surfaces. Then its time for wiping. We use a disinfectant and hand wipe all of the wood surfaces. The entire process usually takes about a day, depending on the size of the ...
Biloxi, Mississippi, United States aspencer15Zoobley and I spent the day in New Orleans doing the tourist thing. Fortunately, the French Quarter is very dog friendly and only one shopkeeper ran us off. We spent a few hours in an Internet cafe composing the travelogue you received last week. Internet cafes are a convenient way to stay in touch without having to carry a laptop but they can also be a real pain in the butt. Unlike the versions shown in the Microsoft commercials, they are usually in out of the ...
