... more emotions than we ever thought possible:
This picture won a Pulitzer Prize in 1994. It was taken by Kevin Carter during the famine in Sudan.
The picture depicts a famine-stricken child.
What if this was your child?
He is crawling toward a United Nations food camp located a kilometer away.
Your refrigerator is located in the next room.
He is crawling because he is dying. He ...
... Life, Freedom, Life, Commitment and Strength.
Then Paul told us to cross off 5 values.
My list became this: Love, Relationships, Communication, Freedom, and Life.
Then we had to circle our top value.
Love won.
Because I believe in the saying "Love Conquers All". Love brings all of my values into play. If you love someone, you provide support, a quality relationship, loyalty, open communication, commitment and strength. If ...
... the dawn the moisture in the grass would evaporate up into the engine and make it impossible to fire. His solution was to park his van with the engine over a tarp. I suspected this was what had happened and if I had taken the distributor cap off I reckon I would have found condensation inside. The problem with the VW camper is of course all your luggage sits atop the engine compartment making access a pain in the butt. However after much perserverence old Madam ...
Esbjerg, Region South Denmark, Denmark wizalllOK so there's only 8.3 Danish krone to the pound & and we had 3 kids so we always new Denmark was going to be punishingly expensive. However it was worth going, most museums have either cheap entry or low price for kids. Just returned from the Viking open air village in Ribe (Jutland) & the buried ship museum at Ladby in Funen (Fyn). Also the viking ship museum in Roskilde (Sealand). All places were very ...
Middelfart, Fyn and the Central Islands, Denmark tucker47Stayed in Aarhus as our sleep over stop, mainly becasue Billund has no hostels! Didn't do anything on our night there, as it had taken us about 8 hours to make it there from Berlin, many change overs on trains!
Went to Legoland on the second day. It was ace! Though many children running around, & they seem to think that Criel as an amazing city in Scotland. We eventually got water rides, something whcih we have been looking for since we started!
... and well informed.
Even though we liked the museum we were ready to move on to the town of Ribe, which is the oldest town in Denmark and also had a hostel and an island near it which appealed to us. The hostel had room for us and we learned it’s been voted one of the top 10 hostels in the world. We could see why. It was very clean, had a nice shared kitchen, had a laundry (that took ...
... cool ride because an elevator-like belt pulls you straight up in order to get to the top of the drop. All of the rides were very kid friendly and visual; it was cool to see all of the things that could be made with legos.
There were a lot of children in the park; however, in contrast to America, none of the children were on leashes. Interestingly, many of them had their phone number written on their arm in ...
... their arms or had purchased armbands that listed the names of their parents and contact info. They had more supervision than I had noticed in Copenhagen but the lack of leashes was reflective of the Danish culture. Further, Lego play stations were located in the midst of the lines so that the children could occupy themselves while their parents made their way through the ride line.
There was also more freedom in the ride lines – at ...
... Dakota. And the Golden Pavilion...but I'd already been there. Legoland's newest attraction is the aquarium. Perhaps having finally given up on trying to create cool rides, they decided they could just built more lego things, stick them in an aquarium, and have non-lego fish swim around them. You also get to watch a cheesy animated video before going in which takes forever because it's tri ...
Billund, Denmark sarahindenmark... to me. As soon as the Lego figure raised his flag that we had the fire out, we raced back onto our truck and pumped our little hearts out, giggling inside that Lars was really getting into it. I swear this family had either been on this ride too many times that they were that fast, or they pumped their kids with red slush ice before getting on the ride but before we knew it they got their truck up to ours, and we only had 5 metres left till the finish! The other 5 teams ...
