We then set off the next day to the West Coast of Denmark, which is a never ending coastline all the way down to Germany.

It was beautiful, empty apart from maybe two families with children dressed as if they're about to go skiing- so cute- and so cold! We walked along the beach, and climbed up the World War German hideouts.

After breakfast, we took another walk through all of the many streets of this old town part of Celle. There are many shops with lots of interesting things, but we are shocked at the prices. We really haven't shopped at all until now, so we had not had a chance to see what things cost. We did buy a couple of things and, of course, stopped at a bakery!

... e le splendide casette con gli inserti in legno fanno di questo posto una vera e propria cartolina a tre dimensioni. Purtroppo la grande cattedrale imbracata in un’impalcatura e le vie soffocate dalle merci esposte fuori dai commercianti per attirare i turisti leccagelati hanno in qualche modo tolto qualcosa all’impressione generale. Ho ripreso la strada per lasciare la Danimarca ed arrivare in serata a Lubecca, che visiterò domani.

The rain eases and eventually the sun breaks through and riding becomes so much more pleasant.

After our last british pub meal Dans parents dropped us off at Harwich ferry port for the overnight ferry to Esbjerg we had treated ourselves to a cabin for what was likely to be our last night of luxury for a while.
