After a quick breakfast, Alfred and Marta gave us directions to Trummelbach Falls. We took off with windbreakers and umbrellas because it is raining lightly! Same basic walk to Stechdlberg as yesterday -- we missed them yesterday! Of course, we did not know what we were looking for! Trummelbach Falls is the main drainage from three mountains (Jungfrau, Monch, and Eiger). The falls are spectacular-- you take a cog elevator up and then walk ...

... his parachute. He missed us by a few feet and that was it!!

Of course we got chatting to this chap who tells us he simply runs for the edge of the cliff and simply jumps as far off as possible. He races through the air freestyle for about 7 seconds then opens his parachute and lands. The whole process takes about 15seconds. To me it just seems a lot of hard work for only 15seconds of fun!!

As we walk on along the river bank towards Lauterbrunnen we keep having a joke about ...

... the rain with Berghaus it stopped for a bit and trousers were able to be removed (just the waterproof ones thankfully) After negotiating the crevasses on Hoheweg (don’t worry, it’s just the main street) finding supplies of tea and cake along the way we eventually came to the bottom of the 1322m peak that is Harder Kulm which was to be our target.

The train i took to Bern was an ICE train (inter city express) and it was great. As well as having normal seating you could choose to sit in a private compartment, and once the door is closed it was unbelievably quiet, and the ride was the smoothest i have experienced in a train.

... up the mountain for about 45min. The views all the way were like you're in a nature documentary and the very highest we got on the road was 2400m above sea level. No way near the highest peak in Switzerland (4600m) but it seemed like we were on top of the world. The road then continued back down the other side with more hairpin corners that I had mastered ...
