... in each room they ha carved things out of the ice. It was made to look like a house and there was a bathroom with sink and bath, dining room etc. Some people had brought their dogs with them – it must have been very cold for the poor things. People can take their dogs everywhere in Europe – trains, buses, shops! It was amazing that they had managed to carve it out. They used to do it all with pick axes but now they have a machine but they still need to use pick axes for ...

... addressed that fact that sitting, enjoying a break in the day, having a meal really Is the way to go. Every meal will be better that way. Not the way we usually eat. Standing at the counter...eating on the run...eating in the car. A macchiato in a small cup sipped at the table will always be better than a vente...blahblahblah skinny,latte,caramel,half-caff... On our way up we crossed waterfalls, meadows, and intensely steep sections. We began talking to a fellow hiker who was a local! We never got his name but enjoyed his stories about Switzerland and growing up in the Alps. We hit it off with him because we mentioned we were from BC and he had visited BC in the 1970s.

... up the mountain for about 45min. The views all the way were like you're in a nature documentary and the very highest we got on the road was 2400m above sea level. No way near the highest peak in Switzerland (4600m) but it seemed like we were on top of the world. The road then continued back down the other side with more hairpin corners that I had mastered ...
