... though it was completely dark outside. You could see black mountains with slightly glowing snow-covered tips all around us and the stars and moon were lighting up the world in a soft white light. Once we arrived in Innsbruck it was about one in the morning and we had no idea where any hostels were, so after driving around a little bit trying to find wifi we stopped at a hotel and asked. ... all decided to find a hiking trail to explore. I asked the front desk woman at the campground about trails in the area. She recommended a hike up to a small village on the mountain called Murren. This village is only accessible by train, hiking, and small ATVs ; no cars allowed except small service vehicles.

... up the mountain for about 45min. The views all the way were like you're in a nature documentary and the very highest we got on the road was 2400m above sea level. No way near the highest peak in Switzerland (4600m) but it seemed like we were on top of the world. The road then continued back down the other side with more hairpin corners that I had mastered ...

... was walking about 45 minutes on a track up to a small picnic / restaurant shack up the side of the Monch, quite hard work walking straight uphill but so worthwhile. Keith was the only one in shorts, although by the end of the walk others wished they were, even though the air temp was minus 3.7 degrees (pretty mild really).
